Who We Are

Nancy Hendrickson Family Tree BooksFamily Tree Books is the brainchild of Nancy Hendrickson, author of Finding Your Roots Online and San Diego Then and Now.

Nancy has been a family tree climber most of her life - - thanks to the intruiging family stories told by her grandmothers, Bessie Faulkenberry and Nora Dearing. As an adult, she has traced several of her family tree lines back hundreds of years, but to her chagrin she has not been able to break through the brick wall of her Hendrickson line.

As a fulltime author, Nancy has contributed dozens of articles to many magazines and websites, and is proud to be a contributing editor at Family Tree Magazine - the #1 Family History Magazine in America.

When not researching family history, she spends time visiting historic sites in the frontier west, photographing old tombstones and cemeteries, retouching damaged family photographs, and blogging about her genealogy and history experiences at Ancestor News and Frontier Traveler.

A native of St. Joseph, Missouri, she currently lives in San Diego, California.

Brenda Asay GeorgeNancy’s partner in Family Tree Books is Brenda Asay George.

Brenda George starting working on Family History because she knew she was “supposed to”  and thought that it could wait until she got very old.

Her brother and mother changed her plans when they asked her to accompany them  on a family history research trip to Ohio.  There, she became totally hooked when she found her mother’s line (Beucler) originated from France and not Germany as research to that point had shown.

Brenda began an exciting experience tracking down ships and ocean crossings.  One of the most rewarding passions of her life began in Ohio and continues on today.  She loves helping others experience that same moment of exciting discovery.

Brenda lives on Whidbey Island, Washington, and is an active member of the LDS church.
